Nymph Dance Company

Nymph Oriental Dance Company:

In the spring of 2007 I have founded my own dance company by the name of Nyph Oriental Dance Company with the participation of my most talented advanced students. The troupe consists 18 members, and as a result of the intensive training, we have won a series of competitions so far (Raqs Sharki – National Oriental Dance Competition, second winners and the winners of the Best Coreography Award in two succeeding years, in 2007 and 2008, second winners at the international competition of Nile Group Festival in Cairo also in 2007 and 2008, and first winners in 2009, first winners at the Nefertiti Charity Competition in 2008, etc…) . The group has also taken part in some theatrical projects like Southers Nights (Downtown Theatre, Budapest), Life Is Magic! Nofretete (musical in the Chamber Theatre of Budapest), and WHITE (oriental theatrical dance performance, Merlin Theatre); and it has performed in Vienna, Cairo and Transilvania as well, and all around the country at festivals and other programs.
The long-term goal of the troupe is to introduce oriental dance to a wider audience, to make bellydance acknowledged as an art form through high-quality, authentic but at the same time unique theatrical and stage productions. For the sake of this cause, the dancers of the Company develop their knowledge continually, not only through daily learning and training, but also through travelling and performing in Egypt more times a year. The members of the Company are tied toghether by deep friendship beside daily practice and work, so today we can’t even imagine our lives without each other!
We happily accept invitations for authentic and modern oriental shows as well, as guest performers, teachers or coreographers.
